A. No. All that is required is that you have a current account with the utility company.

Q. How will Choice Energy bill me for my electric service?
A. There is no change in how you receive your electric bill. You will continue to receive one electric bill from the utility company. The only difference will be the lower rate you pay for the generation service portion of your electric bill.

Q. Is there any late payment fee or other similar fee?
A. There will be no change to your current billing and payment terms. You will continue to receive one consolidated monthly bill from your utility company that includes both the generation charge and the delivery charge plus applicable taxes. You will continue to make payments to your utility company in accordance with its payment terms. Please consult with your utility company regarding any late fees on delinquent payments, termination of service for non-payment, security deposits, payment arrangement plans and other payment and credit terms.

Q. When will my services with Choice Energy be activated once I have signed up?
A. There will be no interruption with your electric service, and there is no actual installation required. Once the utility company validates your account information that you provided to us during enrollment, it then makes the switch on your next regularly scheduled meter reading date. So, depending on where you are in your meter reading cycle it can take more than 30 days for the switch to be effective. To avoid delays in switching, it is very important that you accurately provide your account information to us.

Q. When will I start to save once I have signed up?
A. Once your utility company validates your account information that you provided to us during enrollment, it then makes the switch on your next regularly scheduled meter reading date. So, depending on where you are in your meter reading cycle it can take more than 30 days for the switch to be effective. To avoid delays in switching, it is very important that you accurately provide your account information to us.

Q. Is there an interruption in service when I switch to Choice Energy?
A. No. There is no service interruption when you switch over to Choice Energy. There is no switching set up fee, and you can choose to return to your utility company without interruption at any time and with no penalty or cancellation fee

Q. How do I pay my bill?
A. You will pay your electric bill exactly the same way you have in the past through your current utility company. You will continue to receive one electric bill from the utility company. Nothing changes on your bill except on the 2nd page you will see Choice Energy as your new electric supplier, and the lower rate you pay for the generation service portion of your electric bill.

Q. Can I sign up with Choice Energy if I have a budget plan or receive energy assistance?
A. Yes. Your budget plan will be prorated according to the Choice Energy low rate. This usually takes place around the end of the year.

Q. Can Choice Energy shut off my service for whatever reason?
A. No. Only your utility company can terminate electric service to your home or business, and termination is strictly regulated by the government regulatory agency of your State.

Q. Is your energy green?
A. Yes. In order to be in compliance with regulatory requirement, a minimum of 14% of our energy must come from renewable sources.

Q. Do you offer any other services?
A. Choice Energy has made the strategic decision to specialize and remain focused in our attempt to provide our customers with the lowest electric rate possible.

Q. Will I lose service if my electric supplier goes out of business?
A. No. Electric service will not be interrupted if a supplier goes out of business. You would simply be returned to the utility company and pay its standard generation services rate, or you could choose another supplier and pay its rate available at the time.

Q. Will the utility company be upset if I switch to Choice Energy?
A. No. Your utility company encourages its customers to choose an Electric Supplier because lower electric costs benefit everyone.

Q. Will the utility company lose money if I switch to Choice Energy?
A. No. Your utility company does not earn a profit on the electricity that they deliver to its customers. It simply purchases electricity for customers who do not choose Choice Energy or another qualified electric supplier.

Q. Who is my current electric supplier?
A. If you have not chosen one, then the utility company is your default electric default provider of electric generation services. Otherwise you can find out who your current electric supplier is from your electric bill.
